Holidays put us in anticipation of receiving gifts. It's always a blessing to receive a gift, especially one that is expected. There are times, however, when we receive a gift that we didn't know was coming or didn't come in the way we thought it would. As we celebrate Christmas and the holidays, let us rejoice that God sent Jesus, His only begotten son, in a way we didn't expect, as a gift to us all.

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans[b] of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”Therefore Israel will be abandoned until the time when she who is in labor bears a son, and the rest of his brothers return to join the Israelites. He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth. Micah 5:2-5.

Labor Day is history so guess that means we can all get back to work. Most of us “work” more now than we did before we “retired”. However, that is what keeps life interesting and keeps us moving. Of course, many of our younger members continue to work a regular job. We are thrilled they are doing this and enjoying life at the same time.
Many of our members are experiencing some various health issues. We are thankful that most continue to improve. Those we would like to remember in our daily prayers are:
Carol Anspach
Gary Anspach
Joanna Bazemore
